PSEB Engineers’ Association on Thursday accused the Punjab State Power Corporation limited (PSPCl) chairman-cum-managing director (CMD) KD Chaudhri of “misleading the State Government on power supply scenario”.
Also alleging that CMD was tarnishing the Government’s image only to keep his job intact, the Association demanded that he should be sacked immediately in overall interest of Punjab and power sector.
“PSPCl has been misleading the public by issuing full page advertisements for sufficient power availability in State. The State has been rolling under power shortage and consumers are worst sufferers. Data furnished in advertisements is not based on facts as people know the reality and make mockery of such advertisements,” said the Association president Baldev Singh.
It was alleged that PSPCl is meeting power demand of 9,000 MW only whereas it has crossed 12,500 MW. The power supply in Punjab includes short term purchases of 1,600 MW.
