While recognizing the dedication shown by volunteers during the COVID-19 pandemic and to further encourage them to serve the society, Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar on Friday directed that a platform at the government level should be provided for all such people who are willing to serve the society selflessly.

The Chief Minister while presiding over a review meeting with officers concerned held here said that by providing such a platform, further improvements could be brought in the system.

Khattar said that there are many people who wish to work willingly for the society and do not expect anything in return. Therefore, the officers concerned  should complete all the necessary formalities required to prepare the platform at the earliest so that such volunteers can willingly start giving their services, he said.

The Chief Minister said that besides this, there are many such retired persons also in the society who want to do something, hence it is very important to prepare an action plan while using their experiences.

Citing Jerusalem, Israel  as an example, Khattar said that there are more than 5000 people associated with the Ambu Bike service there. All of them are always ready to provide emergency services 24x7. As soon as the alarm rings in their mobile, they immediately reach the accident site with their Ambu Bikes to provide immediate help to the injured. From giving first aid and to taking the injured to hospital these volunteers work round the clock to help every injured person, he said.

The Chief Minister further said that it is very necessary to provide this kind of platform to the people who can serve the state with their dedication.

He directed the officers to prepare a blueprint in this regard at the earliest.

Khattar also said that although Durga Shakti App and Dial 112 facilities are also there for providing assistance in emergency, still there is a large section of the society who, while working in government service, wishes to serve the society.

Principal Secretary, Foreign Cooperation Department and Resource Mobilization Adviser, Yogendra Chaudhary informed that 89680 people of the state had registered themselves while coming forward for service during the COVID pandemic.
