A controversy of sorts erupted over the sudden death of a senior assistant in Punjab Civil Secretariat caused by the heart attack.
Punjab Civil Secretariat Employees’ Union has alleged that Rajesh Kumar, who was suffering from high blood pressure, got a heart stroke after the Principal Secretary (Personnel) Sanjay Kumar humiliated him on some official issue — the allegations vehemently denied by the officer. Staging a protest against the senior officer, the Union demanded Sanjay Kumar’s immediate transfer from the present assignment.
Chief Secretary Rakesh Singh assured the Employees’ Union that the issue would be looked into thoroughly, while seeking time till Monday. Employees’ Union maintained that in case, no action was taken against the officer till Monday, we would initiate the next course of action.
