Days after supporting the demand of Rahul Gandhi taking over the party reigns from his mother Sonia Gandhi,
Punjab Congress president Capt Amarinder Singh on Thursday demanded formal induction of Priyanka Gandhi Vadra into the party in the face of upcoming Uttar Pradesh and Punjab assembly elections.
The senior Congress leader said that she would prove a great asset to the party and Congress president and vice president.
“I have been saying it for the past two years that Priyanka will be a great asset to the party, and will be a great support to her mother Congress president Sonia Gandhi and vice-president Rahul Gandhi,” said Punjab’s former Chief Minister while talking to the reporters after emerging out of a meeting with Rahul Gandhi.
Capt Amarinder, on Wednesday, had stated that after working as party president for over 20 years if Sonia Gandhi thinks she should pass the responsibility on Rahul, then it's a welcome step.
