Chief Minister Virbhadra Singh targeting BJP for its ‘Badla-Badli’ protest campaign launched across the Sate said that previous Government acted like persecutor not prosecutor framing him in frivolous cases.
He said, “Congress Government does not implicate anyone falsely and it was on order of the court that cases have been lodged against MlA Rajeev Bindal, former industries minister Kishan Kapoor and Himachal Pradesh Cricket Association (HPCA).” Terming the HPCA a big fraud, CM said that several laws were flouted by the institution. Prem Kumar Dhumal should seek an unconditional apology from the people of the State for suppressing his political opponents in frivolous cases. “Every now and then our party workers were targeted with frivolous cases during previous Government regime and then accuse us of political vendetta,” said Singh adding that the protest of ‘Badla-Badli’ is to divert an attention and an outburst of frustration of BJP leaders. He said that Himachal Pradesh is not like any other States like Punjab or Tamil Nadu, where actions are taken just after the change of old Government against the leaders of predecessor Government.
“In Himachal Pradesh we don’t have such culture and I will try to maintain that,” added Singh. Terming the protest of BJP MlAs in the house as unjust and unwarranted, he said, “With the protest, they had undermined the stature of chair of Speaker.”
