Haryana Chief Minister Manohar lal on Tuesday directed the officers concerned to prepare the norms for recognised schools being run in areas of Haryana Urban Development Authority (HUDA) at par with various school education boards.

Manohar lal while presiding over 112th meeting of HUDA here said that no additional fee should be charged to change any of the norms, so that the concerned individual or the institute is not burdened.

The Chief Minister, who is also the chairman of HUDA, said that minimum fee could be charged to upgrade any school. He said that demand for schools is increasing because of rapid increase in population and urbanisation. Therefore, HUDA should ensure that the schools being run in its areas would seek recognition for upgradation by maintaining the same level which they had obtained earlier, said he.

During the meeting, it was informed that for opening nursery school in the area of HUDA, only half an acre of land would be required. Similarly, it will be one acre for primary school and five acre for high school. These norms would be brought at par with those of education boards in future.

The CM also approved the proposal to transfer sports complexes and stadia constructed by HUDA to Sports and Youth Affairs Department, which would also maintain and renovate them.

He also permitted construction of first floor of market booths and service booths for storage purposes. To avail of this facility, the allottees would have to deposit 35 per cent of the collector rate for the same and in future, this amount would be charged at the time of auction.

The State Government has also decided that as a gesture of goodwill, all allottees of residential and commercial sites or buildings in mandi townships and urban estates carved by HUDA would again be given one-time opportunity for submitting application for valid occupation certificate.
