Three Punjab Chief Parliament Secretaries Virsa Singh Valthoa, Harmit Singh Sandhu and Inderbir Singh Buloria have sought resignation of Punjab Pradesh Congress Committee (PPCC) President Partap Singh Bajwa due to his alleged involvement in land scam.

Addressing a Press conference here, three Punjab Chief Parliament Secretaries (CPS) said that PPCC president Partap Singh Bajwa should immediately resign as he had fraudulently grabbed the shamlat land. They said that Bajwa should resign as MP as well as PPCC chief. They said the Revenue Department of Punjab would look into the matter and a detailed enquiry would be conducted before taking any action against the Congress leader.

They further said that very shortly, Punjab Government would initiate legal action against Bajwa and law would take its own courses. They also made it clear that there would be no personal or political vendetta as legal action would be based on facts and documents. They alleged that Bajwa has inflicted a huge loss to the State exchequer by evading stamp duty. Besides this, Bajwa allegedly violated income tax norms. Meanwhile, Punjab Congress had rubbished the allegations of land grab against PPCC president.

In a statement issued, Congress leaders said Punjab Revenue and Public Relations Minister Bikram Majithia had made misleading statement on land deals by Bajwa in Punjab Vidhan Sabha where he read a portion of inquiry report of Justice Kuldip Singh tribunal set up by Punjab and Haryana High Court.
