Power to be costlier in Hry

Published on:

Power will be costlier across Haryana due to a hike in fuel surcharge by the Haryana State Regulatory Commission. The HSRC has hiked the fuel surcharge by 37 paise resulting in a hike of electricity rates in the State. The new rates will be applicable from April 1 in both domestic and non-domestic consumers except the agricultural sector.

With this revision, the rate of electricity for domestic consumers will be minimum of Rs1.14 per unit that was earlier used to be 77 paise per unit till consumption of 40 units.

The consumers with consumption over 800 units will have to pay Rs1.64 per unit against Rs1.27. The consumers of 501-800 units will have to pay Rs1.64 per unit while Rs1.52 per unit will be charged for consumption of 251-500 units.

For non-domestic consumers having load of five kilowatt, the minimum rate has been raised to Rs1.56 per unit from Rs1.19 per unit. The rate for consumers above 50 kw would be Rs1.58 per unit which used to be Rs1.21 earlier.

The minimum rate has been raised from Rs1.24 to Rs1.61 for HT industrial line (above 50 kw) consumers. Fuel surcharge is charged from the consumers towards the cost of use of the electrical infrastructure used for distribution of electricity.
