The Haryana Power Distribution Companies (Uttar Haryana Bijli Vitran Nigam and Dakshin Haryana Bijli Vitran Nigam) announced changes in the power supply schedule for the Rural Domestic Consumers (RDS) of the State. These changes came into effect from Friday.
A spokesman said here that the decision has been taken following instructions from Chief Minister, Haryana who desired that continuous power be provided to the RDS consumers during night time.
As per the revised schedule, RDS consumers would now get power supply from 7:00 p.m. in the evening to 5:00 a.m. next morning.
RDS consumers would however continue to get power from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. and 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. in two groups during daytime.
The RDS consumers will therefore now get 10 hours of power supply during night/morning time and 2 hours of power supply during afternoon time, i.e. an additional 1 hour of supply from the existing schedule.
The spokesperson further added that adequate Power Purchase Agreements and Banking Arrangements had been made by the Discoms to meet the power requirement of all categories of consumers of the State during the summer and paddy season.
