A day after polling in Punjab, the Election Commission of India (ECI) on Thursday decided that all normal administrative work or development activities of the State may be taken up, except in such districts where re-poll, if any, is pending.
“According to a communiqué received from the ECI, however, no officials connected with the conduct of elections could be transferred till the entire process was completed and no review meetings could be held by the Ministers or any other political functionaries with the election related officials,” said Punjab chief Electoral officer VK Singh.
