I’ll work on eradicating VIP Culture in City: Bansal

Congress candidate from Chandigarh and former MP, Pawan Kumar Bansal on Monday  said that once elected to power, he will work on eradicating the VIP culture completely from the city and encourage the concept of “participatory democracy” wherein he will have open-house meetings every month or so at some community centre.   He said soon Chandigarh will have 24x7 water supply, sanitation problem will be solved in a scientific way and every one will have a house to call of their own. “It is unfortunate that I have to say this about Kirron Kher but an MP should never treat his or her constituency as a stage to perform theatrics. Most of the times, I feel she’s just reading out a script that someone else wrote for her. For instance, she has already declared PM Awaas Yojna a success in Chandigarh but the truth is that not even the land is allocated for building people’s houses yet,” Bansal said.  The four-time former MP was addressing public meetings at Vikas Nagar, Mauli Jagran and Hallomajra villages.

KHAIRA LAMBASTS BADAL FOR TRIVIALIZING SACRILEGE ISSUE

Punjab Ekta Party president Sukhpal Singh Khaira, contesting Bathinda Lok Sabha seat, on Monday lambasted former Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal for trying to trivialize the issue of sacrilege of Guru Granth Sahib committed during his government.  Khaira, addressing series of election meetings in several villages of Bathinda, said that sins of Badal family would not become lesser by downplaying the issue of sacrilege. “It is shameful that Badal has suggested to voters, sacrilege of Guru Granth Sahib is not so important. Sacrilege is indeed a key issue in this electin besides non-performance of Modi and Badal governments,” he said.
