Haryana Police will conduct a polygraph test of the two school employees, who are accused of gangraping a Gohana based girl student, in an anonymous letter sent to Prime Minister Narendra Modi and other authorities.

As the issue of safety of school children remain in focus especially after the recent killing of a 7-year-old in a Gurugram school, Haryana ADGP (law and order) Mohammad Akil on Tuesday reached Gohana in Sonipat to seek report on the ongoing investigation in the case.

Two clerical staff members of a private school in Gohana were booked on Sunday after an anonymous letter purportedly by a girl student alleged that she was raped by them. The police took note of a letter that was circulating on WhatsApp and was also received at a local media office, even as the alleged victim has remained unidentified so far.

ADGP (law and order) Mohammad Akil, while talking to the mediapersons said that the police had sought permission from the court to conduct polygraph test of two school employees, booked for rape. The permission has been given and polygraph test of the accused will be conducted, said he.

These are serious allegations and the polygraph test will help us in knowing the truth, he said.

Akil said that the police is investigating the case from all angles related to the authenticity of the letter and is not ruling out any possibilty.

He also made an appeal to the victim and other students who have any details about the case, to come forward.

Notably, a student of Om Public School in Gohana had written in an anonymous letter that school clerk Sukhbir and accountant Karambir sexually assaulted her on several occasions and gangraped her in a local hotel.

The police had taken cognisance of the anonymous letter and registered an FIR under Section 376 D (gang rape) of the IPC.  The two staff members named in the letter were booked on rape charges.

The school authorites have however claimed that the letter has been written to malign the image of the school and there is no truth in the allegations.
