PM's remark on CBI unfortunate, says Sukhbir

Accusing the Congress-led UPA Government of its nefarious designs to intimidate the Central Bureau of Investigation, Punjab Deputy Chief Minister Sukhbir Badal on Wednesday termed it as an attempt to hamper ongoing investigations in Coalgate and other multi-crore scams.

“Remarks of Prime Minister Manmohan Singh and Finance Minister P Chidambram to humiliate the premier investigating agency- CBI are very unfortunate,” he said, while accusing the Congress-led UPA Government for “constantly misusing apex investigating agency for the last 10 years” During tough times, UPA often used CBI as ‘caged parrot’ to bail it out for its vested political purposes, he said while responding to the media queries after inaugurating 66 KV sub-station at village Pakka Kalewala of Jalalabad constituency.

Regarding any ban on land registration in Punjab, Sukhbir said that there was no such ban. “It is only in illegal colonies, where people can get the registrations by producing required no objection certificates (NOC). Punjab Government has given sufficient time to get illegal colonies, plots and other sites regularized. Those who have got their properties regularised, they can have land registration,” he clarified.
