PM locked up his Ministers during note ban: Rahul

Congress President Rahul Gandhi on Friday alleged that Prime Minister Narendra Modi had kept his cabinet ministers locked at his residence during the announcement of demonetisation.

“Narendra Modi locked his cabinet ministers inside the 7 Race Course Road house during the time of demonetisation. This is the truth. SPG (Special Protection Group) are deployed in my security too. They told me this,” Rahul Gandhi said at an election rally in Himachal Pradesh’s Solan during the last day of campaigning.

The Congress chief was campaigning for his party's candidate from Shimla, Colonel Dhani Ram Shandil. He was accompanied by former Chief Ministers Virbhadra Singh and Bhupinder Singh Hooda and former Union Minister Anand Sharma.

Rahul Gandhi also spoke about the promises kept by Congress governments in different states and asserted that his party's ambitious Nyay Yojana would jumpstart the economy when implemented.

“We told you we would bring MGNREGA and we did. We told you we would waive off farm loans, and we have. You can go and see for yourself in Rajasthan and Madhya Pradesh,” he said.

He also slammed Prime Minister for his statement regarding the Balakot airstrikes and said that the Prime Minister is living in his own dream world.

"See how much knowledge the Prime Minister has. He told the Air Force not to get nervous. He told them the clouds will benefit the Indian side as Pakistani radars would be rendered useless by the cloud cover. He stays in his own world, does not even listen to the people whom he should listen to," he added.
