For promoting sports culture in the State, Punjab Deputy CM Sukhbir Badal on Thursday said the SAD-BJP Government is coming up with a job policy under which the players performing well would automatically become eligible for a Government job.
He said that a new job policy would be discussed during the Cabinet Meeting on December 16. Sukhbir said that this would not only promote sports culture in the State but would also save the sportspersons from getting harassed.“Besides, we are also in the process of hiring national and international coaches, who would train the sportspersons. My main aim is that the Indian contingent for 2016 Olympics should have maximum participation from Punjab,” said Sukhbir while addressing a gathering at Sri Guru Arjun Dev Ji Sports Stadium at Chohla Sahib.
He said that Punjab has already achieved the status of power surplus State and from 2015, there would not even be any coal shortage. “Thermal Plant at Goindwal Sahib is complete and it would start getting power supply shortly as the Central Government is already formulating a national policy for coal supply to the States,” he added.
