Former president of Haryana Pradesh Congress Committee (HPCC) and vice-chairman of 20 Points Programme Phool Chand Mullana on Monday ridiculed the statement given by Rajya Sabha member Kumari Selja seeking resignation of Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda on the results of recently concluded lok Sabha elections-2014.
Mullana said that it is the collective responsibility of the party and not of an individual leader. In a statement issued here, Mullana said that such type of statements not only send wrong message to the people of state but also give opportunity to the opposition leaders to create propaganda against the Party.
Mullana said that being a Union Minister, Kumari Selja opted to move to Rajya Sabha instead of contesting lok Sabha election which gave the opposition leaders, chance to make statements that Congress leaders were shying away from the elections due to fear of their defeat. Such messages also adversely affected the performance of Congress party in the recent lok Sabha Elections,he said.
Mullana appealed to party workers to strengthen the party and work unitedly for the ensuing Vidhan Sabha elections slated to be held this year in Haryana. Out of 10 seats in Haryana, Congress could win only from Rohtak, a seat retained by Deepender Hooda, son of Chief Minister Hooda in the recently concluded parliamentary polls 2014.
