In the backdrop of consistent drop in Covid-19 cases in Chandigarh and the region over the last many weeks, Post Graduate Institute of Medical Education and Research (PGIMER) on Wednesday decided to resume online appointments for outdoor patients with a cap of 30 patients per department.

PGIMER Director Dr Jagat Ram said that OPDs will be resumed across PGIMER, including at the New OPD building, Advanced Eye Centre, Advanced Cardiac Centre, Advanced Paediatrics Centre, Drug De-Addiction and Treatment Centre, and Oral Health Care of Children and Elderly Centre. This facility can be accessed from the institute website i.e. https://pgimer.edu.in. This is in addition to different modalities of Elective Outpatient services currently being provided at PGIMER.

He further said, “Physical distancing among patients and attendants visiting the OPDs will be maintained. As overcrowding can lead to an outbreak of Covid among this susceptible population, online appointment for outdoor patients with a cap of 30 patients per department has been fixed to ensure COVID Appropriate Behavior.”
