The performance of all the district police heads in Punjab would be under scanner. Deputy Chief Minister Sukhbir Badal on Friday made it clear that commissioners of Police and the SSPs would be held responsible for any laxity in implementing the services of 181 police helpline.
Reviewing the functioning of 181, Sukhbir pointed out that districts of Tarn Taran, Gurdaspur, Amritsar and ludhiana city were lagging behind in this regard which would not be accepted.
He asked additional director general of police (ADGP), law and Order, Dinkar Gupta to personally look into the matter and take appropriate action.
Taking serious note of 1127 complaints against policemen, Sukhbir directed the ADGP for fair and unbiased investigation so that justice could be delivered to the aggrieved.
