Shiromani Akali Dal president Sukhbir Badal on Monday claimed that the people of Haryana have decided to bring INlD-SAD combine to power in the State which goes to polls on Wednesday.
“The people of Haryana has decided to usher in a ‘janta raj’ led by Chaudhary Om Prakash Chautala and no amount of fixed surveys could make them waver from this goal,” said Sukhbir, also Punjab Deputy Chief Minister, while addressing a gathering in favour of SAD candidate Balwinder Singh Punia.
He exuded confidence that the alliance will wrest power in Haryana. INlD led by former Haryana Chief Minister Om Prakash Chautala is contesting 88 seats, while the remaining two seats are being fought by SAD (B). Sukhbir said: “People have decided to support the INlD-SAD alliance as it has promised an inclusive government in which every section would be duly looked after.”
SAD chief impressed upon the role played by regional parties in overall development of the nation and said that regional parties understand better the aspirations of the people of their State.
He appealed to voters of Haryana to back the INlD-SAD combine “to bridge the gap created by Congress between the two States”. SAD is an ally of BJP in Punjab, but in Haryana it has tied up with the INlD. SAD is locked in a direct fight with BJP on two seats — Ambala City and Kolianwali.
Speaking about SAD candidate, he said that Punia had created a name for himself through his responsive, pro-people functioning. “In direct contrast, Haryana Jan Chetna candidate Venod Sharma had earned a name for never being available to the people. Punia is the right person to take Ambala forward,” he added.
MATURE ElECTORATE All SET TO VOTE FOR INlD’s VISIONARY RUlE
Yamunanagar: launching a frontal attack on Bhupinder Singh Hooda Government and opposition parties in Haryana, the SAD general secretary and Punjab Revenue Minister Bikram Singh Majithia on Monday said that they cannot hoodwink mature voters as they have already made up their mind to elect visionary INlD-SAD Government with thumping majority.
Majithia, speaking at various rallies, lashed at Congress party and other opposition parties for ignoring basic civic amenities and raising frivolous issues in election campaign.
Campaigning for INlD candidate from Radhore Raj Kumar Kamboj, Majithia said that it was matter of great regret that Haryana despite being in NCR has gone many steps down in development index as Congress party was more focused in fulfilling their own pockets.
Describing the outcry of opposition parties as their sign of frustration, Majithia said that all these parties have realized that they are fighting a losing battle as people have already made up their mind to bring back INlD-SAD government.
AKAlI DAl AND BJP SHOUlD STOP BEFOOlING PEOPlE: BAJWA
Chandigarh: Punjab Congress president Partap Singh Bajwa on Monday described the diatribe by BJP against its alliance partner, SAD, as merely a drama to hoodwink people. He called upon the saffron party leadership to ask the Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal to answer the charge leveled against his Government of open loot in the State.
“You have been partners in looting the state for last seven years and giving such statements at this juncture will not wash your hands of the mismanagement, corruption, mafia raj, drugs and administrative highhandedness of the Akali-SAD rule,” he said.
Bajwa said that in case the BJP was really serious and the charges of mafia raj and open loot leveled by the party’s three-time MP Navjot Singh Sidhu was not a drama, “there is no reason as to why the party should continue in Badal government even for a day”.
PPCC president called upon the chiefs of BJP and SAD “to clarify situation and explain their respective stand”.
