Senior Congress leader and Core Committee member of Indian National Congress, Randeep Singh Surjewala on Saturday said that the people of Haryana would elect Congress Government in next Assembly elections with three-fourth majority and teach a lesson to the BJP for duping and insulting the people.

Addressing ‘Badlaav Rally’ at Sohna Anaj Mandi, Surjewala said the people have make up their minds to elect Congress party candidates from all ten Lok Sabha seats in the State.

Launching a scathing attack on BJP-led Central and Haryana Governments, Surjewala said both Governments duped the people of south Haryana by discriminating the area in fields of education, jobs, irrigation, development and respect.

The south Haryana had voted for them by electing 11 BJP MLAs in last Vidhan Sabha elections as the people fell for BJP’s false promise of ‘Achchhe Din’. The people have now seen the reality and made up their mind to take settle the score by defeating BJP with huge margins, he added.

Surjewala also raised the issue of farm loan waiver and said if the Union Government could write-off 2.83 lakh crore loans taken by a few selected big industrialists, why it was not bothered about the crores of distressed farmers who are not getting the promised rates for their farm produces.

The Congress leader also criticised the Haryana Government for making petrol and diesel costlier by increasing the VAT rates on petrol from 21 to 26.25 per cent and increasing VAT on diesel from 9.24 to 17.22 per cent and collecting 18,000 crore VAT on petrol-diesel from the people of the state.

Touching the local issues, the CWC member Surjewala criticised BJP for canceling Jaipur Express Corridor and North-South corridor projects and putting the prestigious projects like Defence University, Delhi — Mumbai Industrial Corridor (DMICDC) and AIIMS on backburner. He also highlighted various local problems like water scarcity, lack of development, educational facilities and basic amenities in the south Haryana.

Making an announcement, Surjewala said that Taoru would be included in Gurgaon district after the formation of the Congress Government in the State.
