People take to streets again in Kotkhai gang rape and murder case

Getting fidgety over the inconclusive CBI probe in the infamous Kotkhai gang rape and murder case, the people of Shimla have once again come out on roads to get justice for the teenager victim.

While the ninth accused cop in the custodial murder case of Suraj Singh, former SP of Shimla DW Negi was sent to judicial remand after CBI could not impress the Shimla Court for extending his police remand, the people of Shimla under the banner of Gudiya Nyay Munch put a demonstration against the insignificant progress made by the CBI in Kotkhai gang rape and murder case.

The people laid a size at the CBI office in Shimla and raised slogans against the CBI. Sharda Damseth, convener of Gudiya Nyay Manch said that the protest for getting justice for victim of Kotkhai gang rape and murder case would be raised in the coming days. She appealed to all the social organisations of the area to come forward for getting justice for the victim.

Vijender Mehra, president of Shimla Nagrik Sabha said that even after a lapse of more than months, CBI was still clueless in the Kotkhai gang rape case. He said that CBI had arrested 9 cops of Himachal Pradesh police but all these arrests were made in the murder case of Suraj Singh, and the real culprits of Kotkhai victim were still at large.

He said that the Kotkhai gang rape had become an example of the insensitive approach of police and CBI investigation in Kotkhai gang rape and murder case seemed to be a mere formality as the CBI had not been able to bring forth anything concrete evidence against the real culprits.

He warned the investigation agency that more people will take to streets and the State Assembly would be rounded off if the real culprits are not nabbed soon.
