People satisfied with Cong policies: Hooda

Published on:

After the victory of Congress supported candidates in the seven municipal corporations of the State, Haryana Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda on Saturday claimed that the victory of Congress workers has proved that people in the State are satisfied with the policies of the Congress and the Government.

The Chief Minister was replying to the questions of mediapersons shortly after meeting the newly elected Mayors of Municipal Corporations and presidents and vice-presidents of two Municipal Committees that went to the polls recently.

Hooda said that out of a total of 144 seats of the Municipal Corporations of Yamunanagar, Ambala, Rohtak, Hisar, Panipat, Karnal and Panchkula that went to the polls, 25 of the seats were won by the candidates of BJP and only 16 by those of the INlD. All the remaining seats have been won by workers of the Congress party.

He said that elections were held for seven Municipal Corporations and women Mayors have been elected for five Municipal Corporations. “This reflected strengthening of the democratic system and the efforts being made for empowerment of women,” Hooda said.
