Punjab Higher Education Department on Thursday announced to release the seniority list of college cadre teaches within two months.
The assurance to this effect was given by the state Higher Education Minister Razia Sultan during her meeting with the representatives of University Teachers, Government College Teachers and teachers of Aided Colleges. The Minister approved all the major demands of theses teachers during the meeting.
On the demand of implementation of new scales recommended by UGC’s seventh pay review committee, the Minister said that advancement in this direction has already been made with the constitution of a High-Powered DPI (Colleges) level committee. “The committee would submit its report within two months and new pay scales would be implemented as per the report of the committee,” she said.
Accepting another major demand of promotion of college teachers on the post of Professors, Minister instructed the DPI (Colleges) to conduct the departmental promotion committee meeting within two months and ensure that deserving candidates are promoted to the post of Professors.
