Joining hands with the Centre’s flagship ‘Swachchh Bharat Mission’, Punjab Government on Thursday finalised the name of nine State ambassadors. Eminent environmentalist, social activist, sportspersons and artist have been nominated as the State ambassador.
“The names of legendary athlete Milkha Singh, cricketers Navjot Singh Sidhu, Harbhajan Singh and Yuvraj Singh, environmentalist Baba Balbir Singh Seechewal, All India Pingalwara Charitable Society president Bibi Inderjeet Kaur, Hockey Olympian Pargat Singh, renowned singer and actor Gurdas Mann and famous TV artist and comedian Kapil Sharma have been finalised,” said the State local Bodies Minister Anil Joshi.
Joshi said that the Union Government has sought names of prominent personalities of Punjab to depute them as state ambassador for ‘Swachh Bharat Mission’. The names have been forwarded to Union Ministry of Urban Development for further necessary action, he said.
