Punjab Deputy Chief Minister and Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) president Sukhbir Badal on Tuesday assured that Punjab would make impressive arrangements for the 350th birth anniversary celebrations of Sikh’s master, Guru Gobind Singh.
The assurance was given to Takht Sri Patna Sahib’s Shatabdi Gurpurb Committee’s chairman Gurinder Pal Singh, who called on Sukhbir Badal on Tuesday to discuss the requisite arrangements regarding the celebrations.
During the meeting, Gurinder Pal Singh accompanied by Takht Patna Sahib Management Committee member Surinder Singh Oberoi thanked Sukhbir for the fulsome support extended by the Punjab government in ensuring befitting celebrations to mark this historic event.
He also apprised Sukhbir regarding the deliberations held in a meeting of Patna Sahib Committee with Punjab Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal.
Deputy Chief Minister informed the Committee members that Shiromani Akali Dal and the state government have drawn elaborate programmes “dedicated to the spirit of the Khalsa and the spiritual message of the Guru Sahib”.
“The event would mark impressive programmes throughout the state prior to the culmination of the event at the birth place of the Guru Sahib at Patna,” he added.
