To provide relief to the unauthorised plot holders and illegal colonies, the Punjab Government will issue a fresh amended notification on October 27 for regularisation of plots and colonies in the next three months.
On the plea submitted by colonisers, Punjab Deputy Chief Minister Sukhbir Singh Badal on Saturday asked the Housing and Urban Development Department to issue a fresh notification under Punjab Apartment and Properties Regularisation Act, 1995 (PAPRA) for plot holders and colonisers who could not get opportunity to get their plots and colonies regularised in given time-frame already lapsed.
He also directed all deputy commissioners and development authorities to launch a sustained campaign to get all illegal colonies and plots regularized and complete this job as a ‘mission’.
The Deputy CM said the State Government has come out with a most public friendly policy that allows colonisers having unathorised colonies to get their offences compounded and plot owners to get their tenements regularised with a nominal fee.
Stating that it would be a golden chance for regularization of properties, Badal has directed the housing development and all development authorities to initiate the process of accepting applications from the next week and decide the same within one month after their submission to issue NOCs to the owners.
The Deputy Chief Minister asked the Secretary Housing to draft an ordinance to amend the PAPR act to give relief to unauthorised plot holders and colonies in the state.
Stressing the need for hassle free process and pro-active public friendly approach, Sukhbir Badal said that it was the duty of deputy commissioners to ensure that general public was not harassed and given total cooperation in this task. He asked chief administrators of all development authorities to monitor the regularization process and submit weekly reports to the Government.
