To curb corruption and ensure transparency at all levels, Haryana Government has directed its departments to make all their payments through Real-time gross settlement system (RTGS) instead of cheques.

In a communication sent by Finance Department  to all Head of Departments, Managing Directors of Boards and Corporations and all Deputy Commissioners, it was asked to make all the payments through RTGS and  to stop payments by cheques.

It has been made mandatory for all the Departments/Boards/Corporations to make payment through RTGS. All payments of above Rs 1000 in Departments, Boards and Corporations for various services would be made through cheques ensuring that no problem is caused to the general public. However, for the services below Rs1000, the consumers would continue be able to make cash payment, stated the letter.

It stated, “This would held in preventing the embezzlement of money by the concerned staff. All concerned departments have been asked for strict compliance of the system stated the letter.”

Notably, the decision to implement RTGS was taken by the Manohar lal Khattar led Haryana Government last year to prevent the embezzlement of money and also infuse a sense of confidence among the people towards Government.
