To make the State tobacco-free, the Haryana Government will constitute a State level Coordinating Committee (SlCC), which would be the nodal committee for implementation, monitoring and evaluation of tobacco control activities. Haryana Health Minister Anil Vij has approved the constitution of the SlCC. Similarly, District level Coordinating Committee (DlCC) would be formulated to look after tobacco control activities in all districts.
These committees would be responsible for carrying out key activities such as training of health and social workers, NGOs, school teachers and enforcement officers in the state, said a spokesman of the Health Department.
