Haryana Chief Minister Manohar lal on Sunday said that a committee has been constituted under the chairmanship of Agriculture Minister OP Dhankar, to take a call on the issue of creation of new sub-divisions, tehsils and blocks in the State to meet popular demands.

Manohar lal was talking to the mediapersons in Karnal after inaugurating a railway under bridge at Gharaunda.

The underbridge meets a long pending demand of the people of the area. The under bridge, constructed at the cost of Rs 6.41 crore, would facilitate the people of about a dozen villages, including Phurlak, Staundi, Malikpur, Shekhapura, Gagsina etc, said the Chief Minister.

He said that now, people coming to Gharaunda will no longer have to pass through a crowded colony. The State Government had written a letter to the Railways to provide land for the construction of an alternate route. The under bridge would not only facilitate the people but also help decongest traffic, he added.

Asked to comment on his forthcoming foreign visit, the Chief Minister said that he would lead a delegation to China and Japan from January 17 to 25. The main aim of the visit is to invite the entrepreneurs to invest in Haryana and also apprise them of  the entrepreneur friendly atmosphere prevailing in the State.

When his attention was drawn towards the statement made by an opposition leader that fake No Objection Certificates (NOC) and certificates of educational qualification were being produced by those wanting to contest the panchayat elections, the Chief Minister said that no such complaint had come to the government so far.

If any such complaint is received, stern action would be taken. Such statements reflect the frustration of the opposition because the decision to fix education qualification for those contesting the election to PRIs has been appreciated by all, he added.

Asked to comment on the Pathankot incident, the Chief Minister strongly condemned the terrorist attack and expressed his deepest condolences to the families of those who laid down their lives while fighting the terrorists. Describing the terrorist attack as a heinous act, he said that our brave soldiers had bravely fought to foil their evil designs.

Referring to the re-election of Subhash Barala as Haryana BJP president, the Chief Minister said, “Barala is a young and active leader who has worked hard to maintain proper coordination between the party and the Government. I am sure, in his second tenure also, Barala would work to further strengthen the party by taking the welfare policies and programmes of the government to the people right up to the grass-root level.”
