“Theme Parks” to be set up in first World Herbal Forest would be built at Morni Hills in Haryana’s Panchkula district. The herbs to be planted in these gardens will have medicinal value, said Haryana Health and Sports and Youth Affairs Minister Anil Vij on Monday. He said that a separate place would be earmarked for ayurvedic medicinal plants in the forest which would be known as Theme Gardens.
Therefore, this herbal forest would be a combined collection of several ‘Theme Gardens’. Vij said that various ‘Chetna Kendras’ would also be set up to provide detailed information in the first World Herbal Forest, to be set upon an area of about 52,000 acres of land.
Water would be taken from Ghagar for the plants and arrangement of drip irrigation system would be made. For this, small bridges and check dams would be constructed for conservation of rainy water coming from hills. Also, fences would be placed on all sides of the forests to save plants from wild animals, activities of anti social elements and to conserve the herbal plants.
