To boost the panchayat samities’ income, Punjab Government on Thursday directed the Panchayat Department officials to ensure optimum utilization of department’s urban properties.
Setting 15-day deadline, directions were also issued to submit a detailed report of properties of the Department lying vacant in the urban areas of the state.
The State Rural Development and Panchayat Minister Tript Rajinder Singh Bajwa, issuing the directions, also asked the officials to implement report within a month so that the Department’s revenue is increased which would be beneficial in carrying out more development works.
“The detailed information has also been sought form the Block Samities for the proper planning of development in their respective areas as per their fiscal condition,” said Bajwa.
