Veteran BJP leader and former Forest Minister Thakur Roop Singh on Wednesday reminded Pakistan to see the stark ground realities that the accession of Jammu & Kashmir had been final long back in 1947 when a treaty of accession had been executed between the then ruler of Jammu & Kashmir and India on the 26th day of October, 1947, on the same lines as hundreds of other princely States had opted to merge in India and the then Governor General of India lord Mountbatten had duly accepted the accession of Kashmir in India.
He lamented since 1947 the leaders of Pakistan and the powerful military generals had been vying with each other to inflame hate-India drive to win popularity at home without utilising their potential and energy for the welfare of the people of Pakistan, who has remained backward even after seven decades of independence.
Thakur Roop Singh cautioned Pakistan leadership against begging from other countries or selling its vital strategic assets to China and stop branding India as its enemy country. Except a few brutal rulers who invaded India and perpetrated cruelties against Hindus both the communities, Hindus and Muslims in India had been living like brothers for many centuries and wished that the grand heritage should continue to flourish in the interest of humanity.
Condemning the conspiracies hatched against India by Pakistan he reminded the old saying that those who dig graves for others are themselves buried in them still holds true.
