Haryana Congress chief Kumari Selja on Sunday said that more than 50 farmers have lost their lives in the ongoing farmers’ protest but it had no effect on the Central Government.
“The anti-agriculture black laws introduced by the BJP Government are threatening the agriculture sector. This act of BJP government will be written in black letters in the history,” said Kumari Selja while addressing the farmers in the ongoing farmers’ movement in village Atoha of Palwal where she arrived to support the farmers’ movement.
Selja said that the farmers know very well that this government is selling them to the capitalists. The government does not see the suffering of farmers and laborers. Their pain is not visible to the government. All this government sees is the interests of its fellow capitalists, she alleged.
Congress leader Rahul Gandhi had warned the country long ago that this government is the government of the capitalists. The aim of this government is only to benefit the capitalists, which is being proved today. The countrymen have understood this conspiracy of the government, she added.
The senior Congress leader further said that thousands of farmers are firmly agitating in Palwal, even in the midst of heavy rains and severe cold. Various forms of atrocities were committed on farmers by this government, but the farmers did not lose their cool. This struggle of the farmers will not go in vain. The government will have to bow before the farmers, Selja said.
She also said that farmers and laborers had raised their voice even during the Congress government. At that time, the Congress government had heard everyone’s voice and resolved the issue. The minimum support price was given by the Congress party itself, she said.
The Congress party stands firmly with the farmers and laborers in this movement, she added.
