Ordinance for Ram Temple unlikely, says Manohar Lal

Amid a clamour within the BJP for bringing an ordinance for early construction of Ram temple in Ayodhya, Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal on Friday said that an ordinance in this regard seems unlikely.

“The talks are ongoing and the issue could be settled mutually. But if not, the Supreme Court will decide on the issue,” he while responding to a question.

However, making a pitch for building the Ram Temple at the birthplace of Lord Ram, the Chief Minister said that the issue is related to belief of large number of people.

The question is not about making a temple or any place of worship somewhere. Rather, it is about building it at the place of birth of the deity, he added.

Meanwhile, BJP MP Ravindra Kushwaha on Friday claimed a Bill allowing the construction of Ram temple in Ayodhya will be introduced in the coming session of Parliament and the Centre will bring an ordinance in case it falls in the Rajya Sabha.

On the other hand, BJP’s ally Shiv Sena has asked the BJP to come out with an ordinance and declare a date for the construction of the Ram temple in Ayodhya.
