The opposition on Wednesday criticised the BJP led Haryana Government for failing to improve health and education facilities during their more than one and a half year tenure in the state.

Independent MlA Jai Parkash while speaking during the Motion of Thanks on Governor’s address in the state assembly, pointed towards the lack of education and health facilities for girl child in Haryana despite the State Government’s ambitious ongoing Beti Bachao Beti Badhao campaign. Jai Parkash also put forth a demand for making separate budget for power, water and agriculture sector for Haryana. He also lashed out at the State Government for issuing inflated power bills to poor people in the state.

Speaking during the discussion on Governor’s address, INlD’s Naina Singh Chautala slammed the State Government for increasing incidents of crime against women and demanded to increase quota of women police from 10 percent to 50 per cent in Haryana.

She alleged that BJP only gave slogan of Beti Bachao Beti Padhao but did nothing in this regard in the past one year.

Referring to the incident of sexual assault of a woman in a hospital's intensive care unit at Bahadurgarh, she said that women security should be ensured in the state. Naina Chautala also demanded reservation for women for providing them employment opportunities in the state. INlD’s MlA Zakir Hussain also raised the issue of lack of education and health facilities for women in the state and requested the State Government to look into the issue.
