The Nainital district administration is going to provide online birth and death registration facility in the district from April 1, 2015. The district administration has directed the officials concerned of the District Health department and all the civic bodies to take necessary steps to provide online death and birth registration facility from April 1, 2015.  All the hospitals and civic bodies must provide online birth and death registration facility so that people may not have to face any difficulty in this regard, said Deepak Rawat, District Magistrate, Nainital.

At the same time, he has also asked all the village development officers (VDOs) to provide death and birth related information about their respective areas on monthly basis to the department concerned so that proper record could be maintained. In case of failure of the VDO concerned, necessary action would be taken against such official, asserted Rawat. The administration also asked officials of all the civic bodies to equip their departments with basic facilities including internet connection so that the online birth-death registration process could be run smoothly in the district.
