One resident died due to COVID-19 as 98 fresh positive cases were reported in Chandigarh on Monday. The COVID-19 mortality rate stood at 1.44 percent in the city.
“The death toll reached 192 and the total case tally stood at 13260 in Chandigarh”, stated Chandigarh Health Department’s evening bulletin.
The bulletin stated, “There were 1170 active cases till the evening. 111 patients have recovered in the past 24 hours taking the total number of recoveries to 11898. The recovery rate stood at 89 percent while the active ratio of cases was recorded at 8.8 percent which means for every 100 confirmed cases, 8 are currently infected in the city.”
Among 98 fresh cases, 71 were males and 27 were females. A maximum of 36 cases were reported in CRPF NWS Hallomajra campus. 88819 samples have so far been tested in the city. The report of 138 was awaited, the bulletin added.
