The Punjab Government on Tuesday issued directions to all its officers or officials to get the earned leave and other leaves sanctioned and approved well in advance before proceeding on leave.
The directions were issued after observing that most of the employees forward their application for availing earned leave just two days prior to proceeding on leave.
“According to instructions, earned leave has to be applied at least 15 days in advance,” pointed as official spokesperson of the General Administration Department.
He said that now the employees have been directed to send their request for earned leave 15 days prior to the date of proceeding on leave. “Any employee, who proceeds on leave without getting the application approved in advance, would have to face the disciplinary action,” he added.
Spokesperson said that the officers or officials have been directed to desist from sending leave application from home or informing of leave on telephone. “All employees ordinarily should get their leave sanctioned before proceeding on it,” he said.
