Haryana Minister of State for Food, Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs, Karan Dev Kamboj on Sunday said that officials would visit 13 paddy growing districts of the State and interact with the framers to know if they faced any problems in selling their produce.
He also urged the farmers to bring their produce after it had completely dried up so that they face no problem in mandis. If the moisture level is up to the norms of the Government procurement agencies, no negligence should be exercised in procurement, said he.
The Minister said procurement of paddy had started in all mandis of the State from October 1 onwards.
He also visited Indri anaj mandi and launched the procurement operations.
While issuing directions to the officers concerned, he said the farmers should not face any problem in the mandis and they should get their due.
If any private miller wants to purchase paddy on government rate he can do so because it would give more profit to the farmers. The Central Government has set Rs 1,590 for PR variety of A Grade paddy and Rs 1550 for B Grade paddy, but private millers in Indri anaj mandi today purchased these varieties up to Rs 1621 and Rs 1611, Kamboj added.
