N S Kang is likely to be appointed as the new Chief Secretary of Punjab. The 1983 batch IAS officer was sent back to his cadre State of Punjab before completion of his central deputation tenure. He was Secretary in the Department of Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities.The Appointments Committee of the Cabinet has approved the premature repatriation of Kang to his parent cadre, an order issued by Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT) said.
