To facilitate the electricity consumers, Haryana Power Utilities have decided to set up help desks in all its sub divisional offices in the Sate.

These help desks would remain operational on all working days, said a spokesman of Uttar Haryana Bijli Vitran Nigam (UHBVN).

He said that a decision to this effect was taken in a meeting of operational review committee held under the chairmanship of Shatrujeet Singh Kapur, chairman-cum-managing director, UHBVN in Panchkula near here.

The spokesman said that complete information from  the online application upto online payment of electricity bills would be provided to the consumers at these help desks. Apart from this, the consumers would also be able to apply online for the new connections and pay their electricity charges at the atal seva kendras established in the state.

In order to redress the complaints of electricity consumers of the state on priority basis, a centralized call centre of both the Uttar Haryana Bijli Vitran Nigam (UHBVN) and Dakshin Haryana Bijli Vitran Nigam (DHBVN) has been set up at Gurugram where anyone could lodge electricity related complaint on toll-free numbers 1912, 1800-180-1550 and 1800-180-4334, he said.

About 70,000 complaints were registered in the call centre every month and these were being redressed in a fixed time limit. Now, a whatsapp number would also be started soon for the convenient of the consumers, he added.

He further said that with a view to further strengthen the call centre system, qualitative improvement is being brought about in the Bijli Suvidha Kendra’s already operational in the circle offices of the Nigam.

The complaints received at the centralised call centre would immediately flash on the computers at these Bijli Suvidha Kendras and the employees of these Suvidha Kendra would issue directions to the concerned employees at their own level so as to rectify the faulty at the earliest, said he.

During the meeting, Shatrujeet Singh Kapur has issued directions to include maximum consumers in the data base so that prompt action could be taken to redress their complaints. He also directed that the connection be issued within seven days of receiving the application. Besides, he also directed to install CCTV cameras in all sub-divisional offices.
