Now biometric attendance system in Health Department

The attendance of all employees, officers, paramedical staff and doctors of Health Department would be marked through biometric system in Haryana.

Haryana Health Minister Anil Vij on Friday said that this would ensure availability of doctors and other staff for patients in time. Vij said that all employees of Civil Hospitals, Community Health Centres, Primary Health Centres and Sub Health Centres in the state would have to mark their attendance through biometric system.

In this regard, the Additional Chief Secretary of the department has been given directions for appropriate action to make arrangements for the installation of biometric machines in the concerned centres soon.

The Health Minister said that employees working under the outsourcing policy of the Government would also be linked with this system so as to ensure punctuality.

The attendance of these employees would be linked with Aadhaar card and its complete computerised record would be linked with the office of Civil Surgeon of respective district and Director General Health Services. This would help the senior officers in getting detailed information about their staff, the minister commented.

Vij said that many times people have complained about problems they face in hospitals due to non-availability of doctor or paramedical staff in time. This not only reflects lack of discipline in the hospitals but  the patients also have to face lots of problems due to delay in  treatment. Keeping this in view, the process of making the attendance of employees biometric would be soon implemented, he added.
