Ahead of the lok Sabha elections, November would be a month of political rallies in Haryana.  All political parties in the State which sends 10 members to the lok Sabha, have decided to organise political rallies in different parts of the State.

The series of rallies will start with the principal opposition party, Indian National lok Dal (INlD) which is celebrating November 1 as ‘Samman Divas’ rally at Kurkushetra to mark the centenary of its founder leader Chaudhary Devi lal. INlD has simultaneously started its ‘Yuva Chetna Yatra’ under the leadership of INlD’s fourth generation Digvijay Singh Chautala, national president of Indian National Students Organisation across the State.

On ‘Samman Divas’ rally at Kurkushetra, INlD has invited leaders who had once worked with Chaudhary Devi lal even if they are in other political parties to address the gathering.

INlD’s rally will be followed by Congress’ Mahakumbh rally on November 10 at Gohana in Sonipat district. Not to be left behind, BJP too will have its  ‘Parivartan Rally’ on November 20 in Sonipat.

Earlier, the ruling Congress used to organize small rallies in the state called ‘Pragati’ rallies but the first formal political rally at Gohana is expected to be a massive affair and the prestige of Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda is involved.

As Hooda does not want to take any risk as the success of the Gohana rally is crucial for him, he has taken the command of organisation. He has convened a meeting of all the MlAs in Chandigarh at his residence on October 15 to chalk out finer details on planning to make it a success. Sources in Congress said that either Congress president Sonia Gandhi or Vice President Rahul Gandhi will be invited to address the gathering at Gohana.

Meanwhile, Ram Bilas Sharma, president of Haryana BJP said that party president Rajnath Singh will address the gathering in ‘Parivartan rally’ on November 20 at Sonipat along with leader of Opposition in lok Sabha, Sushma Swaraj and former BJP president Nitin Gadkari.

“We have booked 240,000 square feet area in the HUDA ground at sector 12 in Sonipat as one lakh people are expected in this rally”, said Vir Kumar Yadav, spokesman of BJP Haryana.

Sharma said this would be the second rally of the party in the state after Rewari rally on September 15, which was addressed by BJP’s prime ministerial candidate Narendra Modi.  “We have also scheduled another rally on December 15 at Faridabad,” said Sharma.

Haryana Janhit Congress Chief Kuldeep Bishnoi has started covering the entire state with his Vijay Rath Yatra which will conclude on November 6 at Hisar.
