Non-GST goods to be monitored by DETCs

Ahead of the rollout of Goods and Services Tax (GST) regime from July 1, Haryana Government has decided that the administration of non-GST goods including petroleum crude, high-speed diesel, motor spirit (petrol), natural gas, aviation turbine fuel and liquor fit for human consumption, except retail outlets of diesel and petrol, will be supervised, monitored and looked after by deputy excise and taxation commissioners.

Haryana Excise and Taxation Minister, Capt. Abhimanyu on Friday said that the deputy excise and taxation commissioners (DETCs excise) and officers and officials working under their control would be given this responsibility with effect from July 1.

The Minister said that the dealers covered under these categories would continue filing e-returns, e-payment of tax and other payments as per existing procedures and facilities. He said that after July 1, under the provisions of the Haryana Value Added Tax Act, Central Sales Tax Acts and Rules framed thereunder and other Acts, if applicable, the deputy excise and taxation commissioners  and the officers and officials working under their control would seek guidance regarding these issues from the additional excise and taxation commissioner (tax) in the head office looking after the overall supervision of these commodities.

Notably, gearing up for the implementation of GST regime in Haryana, the State Government has also constituted eleven Sectoral Working Groups (SWGs) to go into the issues and concerns likely to be faced by their respective sector under the GST and offer workable suggestions for overcoming them by the end of this month.

The Government is also carrying out refresher training on GST and Goods and Services Tax Network (GSTN) front end applications for officers and officials of the state government and other stakeholders.
