Haryana State Election Commissioner, Rajeev Sharma, on Monday said the State Election Commission has no objection to the number of vehicles used by candidates during campaigning for elections of Panchayati Raj Institutions. He said that the candidates would have to seek permission from the Returning Officer concerned and paste the original copy of the permit on the windscreen of the vehicle.
Sharma said the candidates would have to inform the Returning Officer regarding ward and area concerned for election campaigning. He said that to use additional vehicles, candidates would have to seek permission through agents or authorised persons. Apart from this, District Election Officer (Panchayat) and Election Expenditure Observers concerned would also have to be notified.
