The Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) on Thursday ruled out any possibility of alliance of ‘non-Jaat’ parties in Haryana for State Assembly elections and reiterated that BSP would contest on all 90 constituencies’ in the State.
BSP’s chief ministerial candidate Arvind Sharma on Thursday said, “We would contest Assembly elections on all 90 seats alone.”
The announcement is likely to come as a major disappointment to Haryana Janhit Congress (HJC) president Kuldeep Bishnoi who was planning to set up ‘Maha-alliance’ of non-Jaat political parties for the State Assembly elections.
According to the sources, after breaking ties with the BJP, Bishnoi had started hobnobbing with other ‘non-Jaat’ political parties to set up ‘Maha-alliance’ for the State Assembly polls.
Bishnoi has so far succeeded to have poll alliance with former Congress MlA Venod Sharma’s Haryana Jan Chetna Party (HJCP) for Assembly elections. He is also in touch with Gopal Goyal Kanda’s Haryana lokhit party (HlP), who had been announcing that he would focus on non-Jaat vote bank in Assembly elections.
The trio-Bishnoi, Kanda and Sharma had also held meetings at Delhi for possible seat sharing formula for assembly polls, but the planning to set up ‘Maha-alliance’ couldn’t materialise.
