Haryana Education Minister Geeta Bhukkal on Saturday urged the National Institute of Open Schooling (NIOS) to design curriculum in such a manner that it meets the market demand in the changing scenario and also enables the youth to avail maximum opportunities for employment prevailing in multinational companies or establish themselves in the sector of self-employment.

Bhukkal while speaking as a chief guest at a function organised to mark silver jubilee celebrations of NIOS Regional Centre also urged the institute to incorporate a chapter of moral values in their open learning material so as to infuse a sense of self discipline and moral values amongst the youth. Building skilled human resource is our responsibility. Our main objective is to provide job oriented education to students and ensure them employment opportunities, she added.

The Minster said that after the implementation of Right to Education Act, getting free and compulsory education has become the right of every child. Haryana has implemented this Act in the year 2010 and the Central government is ensuring that all states and Union Territories implement the same in a proper manner by the end of this year.

She added, “It is the responsibility of all educational institutions to provide such job-oriented education to the youth that they do not become educated unemployed. Haryana Government is doing quite well in this direction.”
