Trashing the statements of SAD and AAP leaders describing “nine-point agenda” as a fraud on the people of Punjab, the state Congress president Capt Amarinder Singh on Tuesday said that it was “sacrosanct and uncompromisable” and a critical part of the Congress election manifesto.
“They are the ones who are indulging in cheating the state with their false promises and tall claims,” he said.
“I am committed to fulfilling every single promise made to the people and would do everything in his power to alleviate their sufferings and bring the smiles back on their faces,” he said.
Captain Amarinder flayed the Badal father-son duo for trying to befool the people with their misleading propaganda against the Congress, saying that their falsehoods and lies will not help them woo the people whose lives had been destroyed by the Badals and their mafias.
The state Congress president said that it was the policy of Akali Dal and also of Arvind Kejriwal and his AAP to retract from their promises and befool the people to promote their own vested interests.
Coming down heavily on the Badals, he charged them with playing with the sentiments of the people by making false promises, which they never fulfilled, and by making baseless allegations against the Congress.
Capt Amarinder pointed out that he had never defaulted on any of his promises and will ensure that he and his government executes all the promises listed in his nine —point agenda without
delay and on priority basis once he is in power after the Assembly polls.
