The first meeting of high level Committee constituted for framing new Sports Policy-2015 would be held under the Chairmanship of Haryana Sports and Youth Affairs Minister Anil Vij on December 10.
Senior officials of Education, Home, Finance, Police and Sports departments and 40 medal winners and sports specialities of different sports have been invited for the meeting for inputs and suggestions on requirements related with sports and their fulfillment.
Vij said the policy would be formally announced on the occasion of Swami Vivekananda Jayanti on January 12, next year. He said under the New Sports Policy, priority would be given on bringing young players forward.
He said 13 Olympic medal winners in different sports categories, two Dronacharya Awardees, one Rajiv Gandhi Khel Ratan Awardees, four Arjun Awardees, two Dhyan Chand and Bhim awardees would also be present in the meeting besides the officials.
