Punjab Education Minister Daljit Singh Cheema on Monday said that the promotions and new recruitment is on top of the priority list of the education department.
The assertions were made by Cheema after handing over the appointment and posting orders to the newly-promoted 520 Punjabi lecturers. The department has allotted stations to these lecturers as per their choice.
Cheema, addressing the newly-promoted lecturers, said that the education department has allotted the stations to the lecturers adopting a transparent online procedure.
“All the newly-promoted lecturers were called so that they could opt for their choice posting as per the availability. All the vacant stations were being flashed on a big screen, and these lecturers were asked to give their preferences against the vacant station flashing on the screen. The stations were allotted on the spot as per the request of the lecturers,” he said.
Cheema also exhorted them to discharge their duties concerning new assignment with full dedication and sincerity and set a benchmark in making the education system employment oriented.
